My first time starting a reef tank. My kids saw some videos on YouTube and wanted try. Knowing nothing about this stuff, I’m fortunate to have been introduced to Darel and @Reef Racket. Darel was chatting to me online through the website and suggested I become a vip member so I did. I told him what I was working with. I had a 3 gallon or so tank with a light heater and small powerhead. The sand and rock and water were cycling, tested the water was ready for coral. He said it’ll be tough with such a small tank but we were determined. He said as a VIP member I could tell him my goal and he’ll help guide me there. My goal was to make my two friends jealous of my tank when they compare it to theirs. I ordered a few coral not knowing what to do or even what they look like in person. This dude gave me 3 snails to help clean the tank since it’s so small. We chatted over text for days about what to do, walking me through every step as if we were old friends lol. It’s been a couple of months, few new coral and a fish and everything is great. The flow in the tank was bit too high so he suggested I use my old filter and not the power head and bam the coral came to life. My kids and I get lost for hours staring at all the life in the little ocean we have. This thing is pretty amazing. Darel still checks in all the time to make sure things are still going well. The goal isn’t met yet but we are well on our way!
