Description

Characteristics of the Talbot's damselfish
  • Great Starter Fish: Due to it’s hardiness, this Damselfish is not only tough but beautiful compared to the usual “Starter Fish” in new hobbyists or new tanks.
  • Appearance: The Talbot's damsel is known for its striking coloration, with a canary yellow head and fins that transition into a bright pinkish-purple or bluish body.
  • Size: As a smaller marine fish, it typically grows to about 2 to 3 inches long.
  • Origin: The species is native to the warm coral reefs and lagoons of the Indo-Pacific region.
  • Temperament: While considered relatively hardy and semi-aggressive, it can become territorial as it matures. It is often recommended for beginner aquarists, but it is important to provide ample rockwork for hiding and to monitor its interactions with smaller or similarly-sized tank mates.
  • Aquarium care: This omnivorous species is generally considered "reef-safe," meaning it will not harm corals or invertebrates. It accepts a varied diet of marine pellets, flakes, and frozen foods.
